Protern Sensor (Live)

Instant performance data, from anywhere on the course

The Protern Sensor (Live) streams run data to the server in real time over cellular/mobile networks. Within 2-3 seconds of an athlete crossing the finish, speed, time, lateral force, and acceleration data are ready for analysis.

No syncing. No uploading. No chasing athletes for data. Just results, instantly.

Pre-order now. Shipping starts mid-June 2026.

For coaches

Run data, video overlays, and comparative analysis are available seconds after each run finishes. Coaches can review and give feedback while the session is still running.

Instant run data at the finish

Speed, lateral force, distance, acceleration - everything Protern captures - available within 2-3 seconds of a run finishing.

Automatic data-overlaid video

Film an athlete with your phone and the data overlay appears automatically within seconds. Every coach on the team has the video with full data overlays before the athlete reaches the lift.

No syncing needed

All athlete data streams to the server as it is recorded. No collecting sensors, no waiting for uploads, no lost data.

Instant comparative analysis

Compare runs immediately using Protern's compare function. Analysis starts the moment the data arrives.

For athletes

Faster feedback leads to better results. Detailed performance data is available in the moment, not hours or days later.

See where time was lost or gained immediately

Performance data is available right after each run, while the feedback still matters.

Every run is captured automatically

No syncing, no forgetting to upload. Data streams automatically from the sensor to the server.

Video with data overlays shared instantly

Watch your run with full performance data overlays before your next one. Shared automatically to all linked accounts.

For team directors

A program running on Live gives coaches a sharper tool and keeps the team budget and your admin load where they already are.

Live results on the hill, every training day

Coaches see run data and data-overlaid video within seconds of each finish. Feedback happens while the session is still on the snow. Athletes and parents feel the difference on the first training day.

Less admin across the season

When mobile connectivity is on, sensor data uploads on its own and video overlays arrive without manual sync. Coaches spend their time coaching, not collecting sensors or chasing files.

Your choice on billing

Athlete-direct billing is the default. Parents pay for their athlete's Pack and Pass, keeping cost off the team budget and out of team admin. Teams that want pooled data across athletes can opt into team-direct billing (10 or more sensors, on a committed plan). Whichever fits the program.

Film a run. The data is on the clip before the lift.

Data-overlaid video is part of Protern's workflow. Film with a phone and the overlay arrives within seconds. Film with a video camera and the overlay is on the clip as soon as it imports. Either way, the clip is shared to the team without touching the file.

  1. Film the run on a phone or a video camera
  2. Data overlays arrive on the clip automatically
Seconds after the finish for phone clips when mobile connectivity is on. On import for video-camera clips.
  3. The clip is shared to every coach and athlete through Protern Video

Upgraded hardware

The hardware is upgraded. Every sensor ships this way.

Every Protern Sensor (Live) carries the new hardware regardless of the data plan. Dual-band GPS sharpens line accuracy. A larger battery runs through a full day of training. Timing stays at 10 Hz and 0.02 to 0.03 seconds. The fit in the Protern Bib and the feel on snow do not change.

Hardware

Built for on-hill performance

Live connectivity

Optional connectivity

Connectivity is optional. Without a data plan, the sensor works fully offline - all data is collected on-device and uploaded via Bluetooth or USB.

With Live connectivity, data streams automatically over cellular/mobile networks with no action required from the coach or athlete. The sensor connects worldwide with nothing to configure.

Pre-order before May 15 and save up to 50% on a season of Live connectivity. See connectivity plans and coverage.

Global coverage

Over 100 countries. No SIM. No roaming fees.

The Protern Sensor (Live) has a built-in modem that connects to mobile networks in over 100 countries, including the major World Cup and training venues. Nothing to set up, no SIM to install, no roaming to configure.

Chile is the one exception. Mobile service there launches in 2027. Teams training at Portillo, Valle Nevado, or La Parva before then sync the sensor over Bluetooth or USB, the same way offline use works.

Pre-sale - ends May 15, 2026
