You cross the finish. Before you reach the lift line, the run is on your phone. Time, splits, speed, line.

Someone films the next run with a phone. The clip comes back with the data already on it, shared to every coach and athlete on the team.

Everything you need to start. In one box.

The Protern Pack (Live) is for athletes new to Protern. It includes the sensor, the bib that carries it, and a Protern Pass. Choose the Pass term that matches your season.

What's in the Pack

  • Protern Sensor (Live) with built-in global mobile
  • Protern Bib (Live), redesigned for the Live sensor. The original Protern Bib is not compatible.
  • Protern Pass, which unlocks the Protern apps and the full analysis workflow
  • USB-C charging cable
  • Carrying bag

Buying the Pack costs less than buying the sensor, bib, and Pass on their own.

Feedback on the lift. Not at the end of the day.

The sensor sends each run while you are still on course. Within 2 to 3 seconds of the finish, the time, splits, speed, and line are on your phone. Your coach can talk through the run with you on the lift. You take the next run with something specific to work on.

You don't hand over the sensor at the end of the day. You don't sync over Bluetooth before bed. You charge it overnight and go.

The numbers are already on the video

Someone films your run with a phone. The clip comes back with time, splits, speed, and line on the picture. Every coach and athlete on the team has the same video, at the same moment, without anyone sending a file.

A video camera works the same way. Import the clip at the end of the day and the data is already on it. No alignment step.

Works in 80+ countries. No SIM. No roaming fees.

The Protern Sensor (Live) uses a built-in global mobile connection. Turn it on in Copper, Zermatt, Ushuaia, or Narvik and it connects to the local network on its own. There is no SIM card to install, no setup screen, and no roaming bill at the end of the trip. All customers pay the same rate regardless of country.

If a sensor enters a dead zone, the run is stored on the sensor and uploads on its own when the signal returns. Nothing is lost.

Chile is the one exception. Mobile service there launches in 2027. Teams training at Portillo, Valle Nevado, or La Parva before then sync the sensor over Bluetooth or USB, the same way offline use works.

Built for long days on the hill

  • Over 10 hours of battery with mobile on. 15 to 20 hours with mobile off.
  • Records about 284 hours of runs on the sensor itself.
  • Dual-band GPS for increased line accuracy. Timing accuracy between 0.02 and 0.03 seconds.
  • Slim shape that sits comfortably in the Protern Bib (Live) over or under a race suit.
  • Syncs over Bluetooth or USB-C when you prefer to work offline.

Mobile is optional. Run the sensor offline and it records every run in full, then syncs over Bluetooth or USB when you are ready.

Mobile connectivity

Connectivity is optional and purchased separately. Pre-purchase a season or pick a plan when you activate your sensor.

Pre-purchase Live connectivity, or see connectivity plans and coverage.

Also available

This is an alpine racing style bib and is meant to fit tightly. Choose S, M, or L based on your race suit size.

Why do I need a Pass?

The Pass unlocks the Protern apps and the full analysis workflow: unlimited splits, data-overlaid video, run-to-run comparisons, and team sharing. Every Live sensor needs a Pass, whether mobile is active or the sensor is syncing over Bluetooth or USB.

Which Pass should I get?

Monthly. Great for athletes who want to keep the initial cost low, or are buying Protern near the end of their season.

Season Pass. November 1 to April 30. Covers the northern hemisphere ski season for athletes who do not attend spring or summer camps.

Season+ Pass. June 1 to May 31. Full year of access for athletes who train year-round, including glacier camps.

2-Year Pro Pass. Two full years to May 31. The best value for athletes committed to long-term performance tracking. Includes Protern Protection, which lets you pause your Pass once for up to 12 months.

Sensors ship starting the week of July 6, 2026. First-batch quantities are limited.
